Jamie Oliver's recent exposure in the UK media relating to his free range chickens campaign generated huge public interest in his latest cook book.
We noticed the book could be bought from one of our wholesale contacts for £9.99 but they were selling on eBay for upwards of £17, as the study below demonstrates.
Jamie Oliver Case Study
We've recently discovered a great opportunity in book sales on Ebay. We know, we know, Amazon have got the whole book selling thing down to a tee, right?..... Wrong! We found WholesaleAssistant supplier Book Giant selling Jamie Oliver’s latest book ‘Jamie at Home’ for just £9.99 (RRP £24.99), when Amazon were selling it at £12.97 – that’s a whopping 30% more than our supplier! One quick look at eBay found that, due to the chef’s popularity, the book was going for well in excess of the wholesale price – most auctions ending between £15 and £18.

That’s a massive 75% profit on our first book sold!
The Figures
Lets have a look at the figures. A book was selling every 2-5 mins between the hours of 11am to 8pm. That's roughly 25 per hour, equating to 225 per day. Overall we would say anything from 180 to 250 per day. That makes for an extremely profitable venture.
